Dynamic Spine Hyperflexion Is Related to Vertebral Compression Fractures in Postmenopausal Women

open access: yesOrthopaedic Surgery, 2023
Objective Previous studies on osteoporotic vertebral fractures are usually based on the neutral posture of spine; however, the fractures are usually associated with the flexion posture of spine.

Flexural Behavior of 3D‐Printed Porous Bouligand‐Structured Polymers: Influence of Pitch Angle and Porosity

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study examines how helicoidal architectures with different porosities respond to bending. Adjusting layer angle and spacing in 3D‐printed polymers reveals clear tradeoffs between stiffness, strength, and energy absorption. Experiments and simulations highlight designs that distribute stress effectively, offering pathways for optimizing lightweight

Electrochemical Behavior of Flame‐Sprayed Sc‐Doped AlCoCrFeMo High‐Entropy Alloy Coatings in 3.5% Sodium Chloride Solution

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Scandium (Sc)‐doped AlCoCrFeMo HEA coatings are fabricated via flame spraying with 0.1, 0.3, and 0.5 wt% Sc additions. Among these, the HEA‐Sc0.3 coating exhibits the highest corrosion resistance, indicated by a more positive corrosion potential and lower current density.

Atraumatic vertebral compression fractures: Differential diagnosis between benign osteoporotic and malignant fractures by MRI

open access: yes, 2013
Atraumatic vertebral compression fractures are a common clinical problem, especially in elderly population. Metastases are the most frequent source of bone tumors, and the spine is a common site of metastatic disease; in case of cortical involvement or ...
