Compression strength of injection moulded dielectromagnets
2007The paper deals with the problems of material and processing parameters influence on axial compression values in the samples made from composites designated for producing dielectromagnets. Shapes were manufactured by injection moulding. The composite matrix constituted high- or low impact resistant polystyrene.

Morphology and fracture of compression moulded TPX
Polymer, 1973Abstract The microstructure of compression moulded TPX, a semi-crystalline copolymer based on poly(4-methylpentene-1), has been examined using several techniques and has been shown to consist of small clusters of lamellar blocks about 5 μm in diameter. It is suggested that the clusters represent the early stage of spherulitic growth.

An iterative algorithm for optimal mould design in high-precision compression moulding
Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part B: Journal of Engineering Manufacture, 2007The mould design for the manufacturing of high-precision glass parts remains a challenging task. This motivates the present study which proposes an optimization technique to identify the mould design that yields the desired glass piece profile at the end of the compression moulding process with an accuracy of the order of 1 μm. The intuitive, yet very

NUMERICAL MODELLING OF COMPRESSION MOULDING FOR IMPROVEMENT OF MECHANICAL PROPERTIES
IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 2006Abstract The objective of this study is to develop a simulation tool of compression moulding process to improve the mechanical performance of composite structures. Most of the influences of processing parameters on mechanical properties come from the fibre conditions, for example, the fibre volume fraction and fibre orientation, which can be changed ...

Consolidation of Glass Fibre-Polypropylene Towpregs by Compression Moulding
Materials Science Forum, 2006In this work a theoretical model describing the consolidation of glass fibrepolypropylene (GF/PP) towpregs into composites by compression moulding is studied. Such model relates the constant pressure applied by the press to the other processing operational (consolidation time and temperature) and material variables (fibre/polymer content and packing ...

Compression Moulding of Rubber Powder from Exhausted Tyres
Polymer-Plastics Technology and Engineering, 2012Compression moulding of rubber powders can be used to produce large products without using any linking agent or virgin material. In this study, medium-size rubber particles (1.2 mm on average) were obtained by mechanical grinding of spent rubbers and used to mould square plates with a length of 150 mm and a weight of 400 g.

Injection and Compression Moulding as Application Problems
2002In addition to Section 2.2 we extend now the mathematical modelling and numerical simulation of the injection and compression moulding process (cf. Applications 2.2, 2.3) using a generalized Hele—Shaw flow which includes non-isothermal and possible non-Newtonian effects.

Using a Finite Volume Approach to Simulate the Mould Filling in Compression Moulding
Journal of Reinforced Plastics and Composites, 2003A mould filling simulation of an automotive hood geometry was performed using a general purpose finite volume computational fluid dynamics (CFD)code. The simulation was performed as a homogenous multi-phase model using mass sinks to remove excess air from the computational domain and performed in three-dimensions.
