Double nutcracker syndrome in a patient with circumaortic venous ring: a rare case report
In this article, we describe a rare case of the nutcracker syndrome caused by combined compression of the left anteroaortic and retroaortic renal veins. Case description: A 42-year-old woman presented with microhematuria and left flank pain.

Joint image compression and denoising via latent-space scalability
When it comes to image compression in digital cameras, denoising is traditionally performed prior to compression. However, there are applications where image noise may be necessary to demonstrate the trustworthiness of the image, such as court evidence ...

Compressed representation of Learning Spaces [PDF]
Learning Spaces are certain set systems that are applied in the mathematical modeling of education. We propose a suitable compression (without loss of information) of such set systems to facilitate their logical and statistical analysis. Under certain circumstances compression is the prerequisite to calculate the Learning Space in the first place ...

The Cosmos and Crystal Connection: What We Can Learn About Data Compression [PDF]
We use both lossy and lossless compression methods to reduce large amounts of digital data, making it easier to store and manage. Lossy and lossless compression is frequently used in astronomy, to condense the large amount of data collected by ...

Compression of space in visual memory
Human observers had to point to the location of a briefly presented target by means of a mouse after a brief delay following target offset. It was found that observers systematically mislocalized the target closer to the center of gaze, and to visually salient markers in the visual display.

Compression of motor space expands perceptual spaces
Seeing the arm in a different position than the actual, induces visuo-motor recalibration that rapidly modifies motor commands when reaching towards objects. Here we ask whether visuo-motor training affects not only motor, but also perceptual aspects both in visual and somatosensory domains.

Fuzzy Counterparts of Fischer Diagonal Condition in ⊤-Convergence Spaces
Fischer diagonal condition plays an important role in convergence space since it precisely ensures a convergence space to be a topological space. Generally, Fischer diagonal condition can be represented equivalently both by Kowalsky compression operator ...
