A fast, accurate and oscillation-free spectral collocation solver for high-dimensional transport problems [PDF]

open access: yesScientific Reports
Transport phenomena—describing the movement of particles, energy, or other physical quantities—are fundamental in various scientific disciplines, including nuclear physics, plasma physics, astrophysics, engineering, and the natural sciences.

Shock-reshock of zirconium to explore the effect of microstructure on the alpha-omega phase transformation [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2021
Phase transformations play an important role in the mechanical behavior of materials subjected to extreme loading conditions. A series of shock-reshock experiments were fielded to determine whether the phase transitions in materials are significantly ...

Near-single-cycle pulses generated through post-compression on FAB1 laser at ATTOLAB-Orme facility [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2021
Generating high-energy few-cycle pulses is key in the study of light-matter interaction in the regime of high field physics. Attosecond science possess the necessary time resolution to study the underlying fundamental processes but requires repetitions ...

An Exploration of Physics Concepts in Pletokan (Luthang) Traditional Game: What is the Potential of a Physics Learning Media in the Merdeka Belajar Curriculum?

open access: yesJurnal Ilmiah Pendidikan Fisika Al-Biruni, 2023
This research explores physics concepts in depth in pletokan to be integrated into physics learning in the Merdeka Belajar curriculum. Using a qualitative descriptive approach and data triangulation techniques (observation, interviews, and literature ...

Context-Aware Image Compression. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2016
We describe a physics-based data compression method inspired by the photonic time stretch wherein information-rich portions of the data are dilated in a process that emulates the effect of group velocity dispersion on temporal signals.

Energy Equality in Compressible Fluids with Physical Boundaries [PDF]

open access: yesSIAM Journal on Mathematical Analysis, 2020
We study the energy balance for weak solutions of the three-dimensional compressible Navier--Stokes equations in a bounded domain. We establish an $L^p$-$L^q$ regularity conditions on the velocity field for the energy equality to hold, provided that the density is bounded and satisfies $\sqrtρ \in L^\infty_t H^1_x$.

COMPRESSION OF PINWISE NUCLIDE CONCENTRATIONS IN CMS5 [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2021
Pinwise nuclide number density (ND) data from the lattice physics code CASMO5 is compressed using a preconditioned truncated singular value decomposition (TSVD) to reduce storage requirements.

Compression aware physical database design [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the VLDB Endowment, 2011
Modern RDBMSs support the ability to compress data using methods such as null suppression and dictionary encoding. Data compression offers the promise of significantly reducing storage requirements and improving I/O performance for decision support queries.

Peak Compression Force Physics in Rugby Union Scrum

open access: yesProceedings, 2020
Scrums play a major role in Rugby Union games, and are historically known as a showdown between the two packs of opposing teams, composed of their eight forwards players organized in a 3-4-1 configuration, respectively.

Compressible flow with vacuum and physical singularity [PDF]

open access: yesMethods and Applications of Analysis, 2000
The first part is devoted to the study of Euler equations in one space dimension, in the compressible, isentropic, vacuum case with damping. The vacuum boundary is said to be physical if in a small neighborhood of the boundary \(0
