This study examines how several molten high‐silicon electrical steels interact with both conventional and recycled MgO–C refractories. For this, various immersion experiments are conducted. In addition to infiltration, a number of mechanisms are identified and explained that control the corrosion of the refractory material.

Effect of Granule Strength on Compressed Tablet Strength.
The effect of granule strength on the strength of a tablet compressed under a certain force was examined. Crushing strength and diametral compression tests were carried out to assess granule and tablet strength, respectively. When granules were weak, tablet strength increased with granule strength.

Durability and damage tolerance of Large Composite Primary Aircraft Structure (LCPAS) [PDF]
Analysis and testing addressing the key technology areas of durability and damage tolerance were completed for wing surface panels. The wing of a fuel-efficient, 200-passenger commercial transport airplane for 1990 delivery was sized using graphite-epoxy

In this experimental study, the mechanical properties of additively manufactured Ti‐6Al‐4V lattice structures of different geometries are characterized using compression, four point bending and fatigue testing. While TPMS designs show superior fatigue resistance, SplitP and Honeycomb lattice structures combine high stiffness and strength. The resulting

Influence of temper condition on the nonlinear stress-strain behavior of boron-aluminum [PDF]
The influence of temper condition on the tensile and compressive stress-strain behavior for six boron-aluminum laminates was investigated. In addition to monotonic tension and compression tests, tension-tension, compression-compression, and tension ...
