Compression Strength of Soils

2018
In this chapter, the probabilistic porous-solid model is used to determine the mean effective stress of soils at failure. The plots of the deviator stress against the mean effective stress show a unique failure line for a series of triaxial tests performed at different confining net stress and suctions for both wetting and drying paths. Compressive Strength of Production Parts Without Compression Testing

2001
The purpose of this paper is to present a methodology to estimate the compressive strength of fiber-reinforced composite prototype and production parts. The procedure is based on test data that incorporate the effects of sample size and sample preparation but are simpler to obtain than compression test data.

Compressive Strength of Unidirectional Composites: Measurement and Prediction

1997
The present work examines the effect of resin ductility (varied as a function of temperature) on the compressive strength of unidirectional T800/924C carbon fibre-epoxy laminates. Tests are conducted in a screw-driven machine between room temperature and 100°C.

Compressive Strength Test for Low‐Strength Cement Blocks

Journal of Structural Engineering, 1991
Considerable use of blocks has made it necessary to draft a Sri Lankan standard on cement blocks. For the determination of compressive strength of blocks, several internationally used methods are available. Because the blocks used are of low strength, usefulness of these methods was uncertain.
