Sound source localization with sensor arrays involves the estimation of the direction-of-arrival (DOA) from a limited number of observations. Compressive sensing (CS) solves such underdetermined problems achieving sparsity, thus improved resolution, and can be solved efficiently with convex optimization.

Effects of chemical composition of fly ash on compressive strength of fly ash cement mortar
Construction and Building Materials, 2019The effect of the chemical composition of the amorphous and crystalline phases of fly ash on the compressive strength of fly ash cement mortar was studied. The fly ash cement mortars were made by replacing 25 wt% of cement with 16 types of fly ashes, and

Compressive sensing: To compress or not to compress
2011 Conference Record of the Forty Fifth Asilomar Conference on Signals, Systems and Computers (ASILOMAR), 2011In this paper, we consider the compressive sensing scheme from the information theory point of view and derive the lower bound of the probability of error for CS when length N of the information vector is large. The result has been shown that, for an i.i.d.

Highly compressible paracetamol — II. Compression properties
International Journal of Pharmaceutics, 2000Paracetamol particles crystallized in the presence of polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) exhibited an obvious improvement in their compression properties compared to untreated paracetamol. Paracetamol particles crystallized in the presence of 0.5% w/v PVP 10000 or PVP 50000 produced tablets with improved crushing strength with no tendency to cap even at high ...

An image compression and encryption algorithm based on chaotic system and compressive sensing
Optics and Laser Technology, 2019For a linear image encryption system, it is vulnerable to the chosen-plaintext attack. To overcome the weakness and reduce the correlation among pixels of the encryption image, an effective image compression and encryption algorithm based on chaotic ...

Modeling the compressive strength of high-strength concrete: An extreme learning approach
Construction and Building Materials, 2019Compressive strength is a major and significant mechanical property of concrete which is considered as one of the important parameters in many design codes and standards. Early and accurate estimation of it can save in time and cost.
