Variability of Compressive Strength of Concrete Cores

Journal of Performance of Constructed Facilities, 2014
AbstractA comprehensive test program was conducted on the compressive strength of concrete cores. The tests involved eight mixes of concrete. Because over 200 tests were conducted, it was possible to undertake an analysis of the concrete cores using the probabilistic treatment of strength.

Predicition of concrete compressive strength

2008
A compressive strength of concrete is considered as its basic material property. The conventional practice is that other mechanical and physical properties are brought into correlation with the compressive strength. Therefore, the prediction of compressive strength has always been of the greatest importance.

Neural prediction of concrete compressive strength

International Journal of Materials and Structural Integrity, 2018
In the past, a few researchers predicted the compressive strength of concrete from its ingredients by employing artificial neural network (ANN). Evaluation of the models with different performance metrics, such as correlation coefficient and errors of estimation, indicated that there was scope for improvement in the prediction performance of ANN.

Strength of Concrete Under Biaxial Compression

ACI Journal Proceedings, 1965
A CRITERION FOR FAILURE OF CONCRETE UNDER COMBINED STRESSES HAS BEEN STUDIED BY TESTING CONCRETE CUBES TO FAILURE UNDER BIAXIAL COMPRESSION. FROM THE RESULTS OF THESE TESTS, CORRELATIONS BETWEEN THE OCTAHEDRAL NORMAL AND SHEAR STRESSES AND THE PRINCIPAL STRESSES IN DIMENSIONLESS FORM WERE OBTAINED.

Residual Compressive Strength of Heated Concrete

Architectural Science Review, 1993
Test results of a study designed to analyse the effect of elevated temperatures on the compressive strength of concrete incorporating factors such as water-cement ratio, aggregate-cement ratio, time of exposures are presented. It was shown that water-cement ratio is not a sensitive factor, while the hours of exposure to heat and the concrete mix are.

The strength of concrete under compressive load

1984
A background literature survey pertinent to the behaviour of plain concrete under short-term compressive load is presented. This yields little to suggest that any consis·tent "understanding" of the overall strength/deformation/failure topic prevails in the mainstream of current thought.
