Testing Compression Bandages

Phlebology: The Journal of Venous Disease, 1988
Compression bandaging is the mainstay of the treatment of chronic venous leg ulcers. Using the Borgnis Medical Stocking Tester, six bandages in common use; (Blue Line, J-Press, Medirip, Elastocrepe, Crepe, and Elastoplast), were studied for the pressures attained, and the ability to sustain pressure.

The Arthroscopic Active Compression Test

Arthroscopy: The Journal of Arthroscopic & Related Surgery, 2005
Pathology of the biceps tendon is often a factor in the pathogenesis of shoulder pain. However, diagnosis and management of such pathology remains controversial. Multiple tests have been described to identify pathology related to the biceps tendon and biceps anchor.

STIFFNESS OF COMPRESSION TESTING MACHINES

Journal of Texture Studies, 2000
ABSTRACTA ring test with six participating laboratories and rubber stoppers as reference material was performed to monitor the performance of commercial compression testing instruments. Testing conditions were chosen to be in the range of regular compression testing. Small, single screw instruments with a cantilever exhibited a significant deviation in

VENOUS-COMPRESSION TEST IN HYPERPARATHYROIDISM

The Lancet, 1969
Abstract Venous compression of the arm (100 mm. Hg) with rhythmical fist-clenching for 15 minutes in hyperparathyroid patients caused a substantial rise in serum-calcium in the occluded arm. In 25 patients the average increase was 7.2%, compared with an increase of only 1.0% in 25 normal controls.

Compressive strength testing of compressed earth blocks

Construction and Building Materials, 2007
Abstract As with other masonry units, compressive strength is a basic measure of quality for compressed earth blocks. However, as compressed earth blocks are produced in a great variety of sizes the influence of block geometry on measured strength, primarily through platen restraint effects, must be taken into account.

Hot-Compression Testing

2005
Abstract This article describes the use of compression tests, namely, cylindrical compression, ring compression, and plane-strain compression tests at elevated temperatures. It discusses the effects of the temperature, strain rate, and deformation heating on metals during the cylindrical compression test, with the help of flow curves ...

Stress Testing in Nerve Compression

Hand Clinics, 1991
Peripheral nerve compression syndromes most often produce neuropathic changes that are recordable by conventional electrophysiologic testing techniques. Occasionally, a patient exhibits all the appropriate clinical signs, symptoms, and history of a compartment syndrome, such as a carpal tunnel syndrome, but electrophysiologic testing procedures will be
