Automatic Compressor Stations

SPE Gas Technology Symposium, 1958
Gas Technology Symposium, 17–18 April, Shreveport, Louisiana Automatic sequenced compressor units that are started by the push of a button are now in service; the next step will be automatically controlled units that don't even require the push!

Operational Safety of Compressor Station Pipeline

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2014
Failure of pipeline system can endanger human lives and cause serious damage; therefore it is necessary to check it in terms of strength and life reliability. Inspection was performed on compressor station pipeline, where in terms of resistance to brittle failure it was discovered, that the weakest point of the pipeline is the weld.

Centrifugal Compressor Preliminary Design Optimization for a Hydrogen Pipeline Compression Station

Volume 2: Ceramics and Ceramic Composites; Coal, Biomass, Hydrogen, and Alternative Fuels
As the demand for hydrogen is expected to increase in the coming years, infrastructure requirements for the transport and storage of hydrogen should follow this trend to reduce its cost for users.

Modernization of the Equipment of a Head Compressor Station

Volume 3B: Oil and Gas Applications; Organic Rankine Cycle Power Systems; Supercritical CO2 Power Cycles; Wind Energy, 2014
The Waidhaus compressor station in Germany is a key compressor station for the supply of Natural Gas from Russia into the German and the European market. The required flexibility, together with the goal of a small environmental footprint, has led to some unique, but widely applicable solutions.

Transient Operation in Pipeline Compressor Stations

Volume 3B: Oil and Gas Applications; Organic Rankine Cycle Power Systems; Supercritical CO2 Power Cycles; Wind Energy, 2014
Many pipelines are not operated under steady state conditions. This is in particular true for pipelines that are highly integrated with other pipelines, or have many different feed or gas take-off points. In many cases, the demand changes frequently, and cannot always be planned with a long time horizon.

Energy and exergy analyses of using natural gas compressor station waste heat for cogeneration power and fresh water

International Journal of Exergy, 2019
In this paper, a thermodynamic simulation is developed based on energy and exergy analysis for evaluating the features in the proposed cycle including combined power generation, water distillation and natural gas cooling cycle.

Concepts in Gas Compressor Station Configuration

All Days, 2011
Abstract The number of compressors installed in each compressor station of a pipeline system, as well as their arrangement, has a significant impact on the availability, fuel consumption and capacity of the system.

Italian Compressor Stations for Gas Storage

Volume 3C: General, 1993
In Italy the gas transmission network, more than 23.000 km long, has 21 compressor stations with a total power of 500 MW. Some of the stations are used only for transmission purposes while others can also be used alternately or at the same time to compress gas into storage fields (Fig.1).
