Computer analysis of art

Journal on Computing and Cultural Heritage, 2012
Analysis of visual art is a highly complex cognitive task that depends on the very many aspects of the art as well as complex brain connectivity, and the examination of visual art and the analysis of influential links between artists and artistic movements require the trained eye of knowledgeable art historians.

Computer Interference Analysis

IBM Journal of Research and Development, 1973
This paper describes a single-server queuing model with Erlang input, which can be used for computer congestion analysis. The model is intended primarily for small computer systems in which the CPU is needed for input/output operations, which aggravates the interference problem.

The use of computers in analysis

Proceedings of the May 1-3, 1962, spring joint computer conference on - AIEE-IRE '62 (Spring), 1962
Automatic computers, both analog and digital, have attained a prominent place in most modern engineering curricula. The computer is recognized as an important engineering design tool permitting the student to test the efficacy of a large number of design hypotheses to determine an optimum design. In these applications the computer is favored because it

An Analysis of Computational Efficiency of DNA Computing

2002
In this paper, we investigate the relation between an experimental condition and computational (reaction) efficiency of a simple model in DNA computing. A DNA computing algorithm needs many chemical and enzyme reactions in its solution process. An experimental condition for DNA computing is generally based on a molecular biology protocol.

Symmetry analysis by computer

Pattern Recognition, 1983
Abstract Approximate locations of axes of symmetry of a 2-dimensional region are detected on the basis of its border. The border, described in terms of certain directional codes, is treated as a regular polygon in a hierarchical manner where a lower level means a greater number of sides.

Computer Analysis of Hoarseness

Acta Oto-Laryngologica, 1980
The harmonic components in hoarse voice were separated from the noise components by using a small laboratory computer. The ratio of harmonics to noise or S/N ratio, was calculated and compared with the auditory impression for 58 subjects. The calculated results showed a definite correlation to the auditory impression, and it is suggested that this ...

Computational Analysis of Behavior

Annual Review of Neuroscience, 2016
In this review, we discuss the emerging field of computational behavioral analysis—the use of modern methods from computer science and engineering to quantitatively measure animal behavior. We discuss aspects of experiment design important to both obtaining biologically relevant behavioral data and enabling the use of machine vision and learning ...

Computer analysis of ballistocardiograms

Computers and Biomedical Research, 1972
Abstract Analysis of ballistocardiograms using a small scientific digital computer is described. Two steps in processing the body accelerations and concurrent carotid pulses are employed. Desired sequences of heartbeats are selected from data recorded on FM analog magnetic tape. These are digitized and stored permanently on Linc digital magnetic tape.

Computational Movement Analysis

2011
Recent advances in tracking technologies result in geographic information representing the movement of individuals at previously unseen spatial and temporal granularities. This new, inherently spatiotemporal, kind of geographic information offers new insights into dynamic geographic processes but also challenges the traditionally rather static spatial ...

Computability in Analysis and Physics

1989
Since their inception, the Perspectives in Logic and Lecture Notes in Logic series have published seminal works by leading logicians. Many of the original books in the series have been unavailable for years, but they are now in print once again. In this volume, the first publication in the Perspectives in Logic series, Pour-El and Richards present the ...
