OPTIMIZATION OF COMPUTER STRUCTURES
IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1987Abstract The development of different computer structures has made substantial progress in recent years. In control systems, as well as in many other areas, optimized (for a special application) computer structures are widely used tools. The process of optimizing such structures is often supported by simulation.

Probability in the Engineering and Informational Sciences, 1998
We consider several models of computer disk access and show that in many cases greedy policies, such as the nearest server policy, minimize the process of distances traveled by heads on circular, spherical, or linear data media. This minimization is in the joint stochastic or lower orthant sense.

WIREs Computational Statistics, 2010
AbstractComputer networks are vital in our everyday lives. It is important to design network configurations with special consideration for their various aspects, such as security, integrity, scalability, and cost. It is especially important for a network to be built as robustly as possible to protect against failures, attacks, and intrusions.

Computational Optimal Transport
2017Optimal transport is the mathematical discipline of matching supply to demand while minimizing shipping costs. This matching problem becomes extremely challenging as the quantity of supply and demand points increases; modern applications must cope with thousands or millions of these at a time.

Computer optimization planning
The Bovine Practitioner, 1980The purpose of this presentation is to discuss some recent developments in automating the analytical process and improving the decision making process in ranch operations. In this paper I will discuss some aspects of the computer based analytical model "COPLAN," describe how it is applied specifically to cow-calf operations and conclude with a ...
