Solutions of nonlinear real world problems by a new analytical technique

open access: yesHeliyon, 2018
Here a new analytical scheme is presented to solve nonlinear boundary value problems (BVPs) of higher order occurring in nonlinear phenomena. This method is called second alternative of Optimal Homotopy Asymptotic Method.

Internal Temperature Evolution Metrology and Analytics in Li‐Ion Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study investigates the non‐linear evolution of internal temperatures across diverse operating conditions, highlighting the disparities between internal and external measurements and the resulting thermal asymmetries. The coupled thermo‐electrochemical modeling framework provides a comprehensive analysis of various heat generation modes, examining ...

Numerical investigation of bubbles coalescence in a shear flow with diffuse-interface model

open access: yesHeliyon, 2018
In this article, we apply the diffuse-interface model [developed by Shah and Yuan (2011) [21]] for collision and coalescence of two bubbles in a linear shear flow.

Entropy generation effect of a buoyancy force on hydromagnetic heat generating couple stress fluid through a porous medium with isothermal boundaries

open access: yesHeliyon, 2020
This investigation addresses the influence of a buoyancy force on the flow of a couple stress hydromagnetic heat generating fluid across a porous channel with isothermal boundaries.

For a learnable mathematics in the digital cultures [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
I begin with some general remarks concerning the co-evolution of representational forms and mathematical meanings. I then discuss the changed roles of mathematics and novel representations that emerge from the ubiquity of computational models, and ...

Print‐and‐Plate Architected Electrodes for Electrochemical Transformations Under Flow

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Typical flow cell electrodes are composed of stochastic porous carbon, limiting understanding of electrode structure‐performance relationships. This work describes an approach, termed “print‐and‐plate,” to prepare porous electrodes by direct ink writing followed by conformal metal coating.

Computers and mathematics education

open access: yesComputers & Mathematics with Applications, 1975
AbstractThe two main arguments of this paper are: first, that it is important for our society of the near future that every educated person understand some of the principles on which computers operate; and second, that there is an important relationship between mathematics education and computers, both in the sense that the mathematics curriculum can ...

Biologically‐Inspired Melt Electrowriting for the Generation of Highly Biomimetic Functional Myocardium

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In this work, melt electrowriting is used to fabricate a 3D printed scaffold design that generates engineered cardiac tissues with in‐plane contraction, mimicking natural myocardium. It is shown that these tissues display advanced maturation and functionality.
