Computational Literacy and “The Big Picture” Concerning Computers in Mathematics Education
This article develops some ideas concerning the “big picture” of how using computers might fundamentally change learning, with an emphasis on mathematics (and, more generally, STEM education).

Using multi‐omic characterization, we aimed to identify key regulators specific to squamous cell lung carcinoma (SqCC). SqCC‐specific differentially expressed genes were integrated with metabolics data. High expression of the creatine transporter SLC6A8, along with elevated creatine levels, appeared to be a distinct metabolic feature of SqCC.

A mathematical model for entropy generation in a Powell-Eyring nanofluid flow in a porous channel
The continuous generation of entropy leads to exergy destruction which reduces the performance of a physical system. Hence, entropy minimization becomes necessary.

This study presents a novel approach to teaching Python and bioinformatics using team‐based learning and cloud‐hosted notebooks. By integrating interactive coding into biomedical education, the method improves accessibility, student engagement, and confidence—especially for those without a computing background.

We propose a context‐dependent model where the Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) gene acts as a tumour suppressor in aggressive tumours and as an oncogene in less aggressive ones. We propose this model as a unified framework to explain the opposing survival associations with DMD expression and to guide experimental exploration of the dual role of DMD ...

Introduction to Gestural Similarity in Music. An Application of Category Theory to the Orchestra
Mathematics, and more generally computational sciences, intervene in several aspects of music. Mathematics describes the acoustics of the sounds giving formal tools to physics, and the matter of music itself in terms of compositional structures and ...

Overview of molecular signatures of senescence and associated resources: pros and cons
Cells can enter a stress response state termed cellular senescence that is involved in various diseases and aging. Detecting these cells is challenging due to the lack of universal biomarkers. This review presents the current state of senescence identification, from biomarkers to molecular signatures, compares tools and approaches, and highlights ...

ICU‐EEG Pattern Detection by a Convolutional Neural Network
ABSTRACT Objective Patients in the intensive care unit (ICU) often require continuous EEG (cEEG) monitoring due to the high risk of seizures and rhythmic and periodic patterns (RPPs). However, interpreting cEEG in real time is resource‐intensive and heavily relies on specialized expertise, which is not always available.

A multi-feature predicting model of crown evolution involving material properties
We propose a new model for the crown evolution after a single drop impacts on a thin film. In contrast with the existing models that mainly focus on the status of well-developed crown or the bottom radius evolution, multiple features are provided in our ...
