Validation of Computational Methods
2016In this chapter, we provide an overview of how (Quantitative) Structure Activity Relationships, (Q)SARs, are validated and applied for regulatory purposes. We outline how chemical categories are derived to facilitate endpoint specific read-across using tools such as the OECD QSAR Toolbox and discuss some of the current difficulties in addressing the ...

Computational Interaction with Bayesian Methods
Extended Abstracts of the 2019 CHI Conference on Human Factors in Computing Systems, 2019This course introduces computational methods in human--computer interaction. Computational interaction methods use computational thinking---abstraction, automation, and analysis---to explain and enhance interaction. This course introduces the theory of practice of computational interaction by teaching Bayesian methods for interaction across four wide ...

Computer Methods for Creating Photomosaics
IEEE Transactions on Computers, 1975A technique is described which allows overlapping images to be combined into a photomosaic in which the visual impact of the introduced seam. has been minimized. Images which have been brought into geometric and gray scale register are combined on a line-by-line basis by choosing a "best" seam point for each line.

The aim of any computational analysis involving geotechnical problems consists in describing and simulating the hydro-thermo-chemo-mechanical (HTCM) processes occurring in a determined volume in an assigned period of time. This requires the solution of a system of partial derivative differential equations.
