Data-Driven Modeling of Web Traffic Flow Using Functional Modal Regression

open access: yesAxioms
Real-time control of web traffic is a critical issue for network operators and service providers. It helps ensure robust service and avoid service interruptions, which has an important financial impact. However, due to the high speed and volume of actual

Identifying Physical Interactions in Contact‐Based Robot Manipulation for Learning from Demonstration

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Robots can learn manipulation tasks from human demonstrations. This work proposes a versatile method to identify the physical interactions that occur in a demonstration, such as sequences of different contacts and interactions with mechanical constraints.

Adaptive CPU frequency scaling for energy-efficient and sustainable edge computing under renewable energy uncertainty

open access: yesEngineering Science and Technology, an International Journal
The inherent variability and intermittency of Renewable Energy (RE) sources present a major challenge to maintaining efficient and sustainable Internet of Things (IoT) ecosystems powered by Edge Servers (ES) and adaptive Central Processing Units (CPUs ...

LLM‐Integrated Human–Robot Interaction System for Microrobots

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This paper proposes an LLM‐based control framework for guiding microrobots using human natural language. This framework can convert the natural human speech into safe and executable command sets for reliable navigation in complex environments. The experimental results show high accuracy and robustness in task performance, demonstrating the potential of

Prediction of Surface Deformation Induced by Ultra-Shallow-Buried Pilot Tunnel Construction

open access: yesApplied Sciences
The prediction of ground deformation during ultra-shallow-buried pilot tunnel construction is critical for urban rail transit projects in complex geological settings, yet existing cross-section models often lack accuracy.

Dual Role of Tamoxifen in Enhancing STING and CEACAM1 Expression to Prime a Favorable Tumor Microenvironment for Anti‐TIM3 Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Anti‐PD‐1/PD‐L1 blockade has revolutionized cancer immunotherapy, but is ineffective against endocrine‐treated (i.e., Tamoxifen), relapsed ER+ breast cancer (BC) patients. This study provides insight into the sub‐optimal response of ER+BCs to anti‐PD‐1/PD‐L1 blockade – highlighting the induction of STING and the CEACAM1/TIM3 axis after chronic ...

Experimental Measurement of Born Rule Deviation on IBM Quantum Hardware: Evidence for Non-Unity Tsallis Vacuum Index in the Coherent Ordering Dynamics Framework

open access: yes
We report Born rule precision tests conducted on IBM quantum hardware (backend: ibm_fez) using the Coherent Ordering Dynamics (COD) framework. The COD framework predicts a deviation from standard Born rule statistics of the form delta_P = (q-1) x (-0.3609) x p(1-p), where q is the Tsallis non-extensivity index derived analytically with no free ...

Consensus Formation and Change are Enhanced by Neutrality

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Neutral agents are shown to enhance both the formation and overturning of consensus in collective decision‐making. A general mathematical model and experiments with locusts and humans reveal that neutrality enables robust consensus via simple interactions and accelerates consensus change by reducing effective population size.
