Development of skeletal systems for ICRP pediatric mesh-type reference computational phantoms
Journal of Radiological Protection, 2021In 2016, the International Commission on Radiological Protection (ICRP) launched Task Group 103 (TG 103) for the explicit purpose of developing a new generation of adult and pediatric reference computational phantoms, named ‘mesh-type reference ...

The purpose of study was to develop a computer-simulated liver phantom for hepatic CT studies. A computer-simulated liver phantom was mathematically constructed on a computer workstation. The computer-simulated phantom was calibrated using real CT images acquired by an actual four-detector CT.

Two new voxel phantoms, ICRP Adult Female (AF) and ICRP Adult Male (AM), have been compared with BOMAB (BOttle Mannikin ABsorber) phantoms and other voxel phantoms of similar size (NORMAN and VIP-Man) using Monte Carlo simulations to assess their counting efficiencies in a whole body counter.

Trabecula: A Random Generator of Computational Phantoms for Bone Marrow Dosimetry.
Health Physics, 2020This study was motivated by the efforts to evaluate radiation risk for leukemia incidence in the Techa River cohort, where the main bone marrow dose contributors were Sr (bone-seeking beta emitters). Energy deposition in bone marrow targets was evaluated

Computed tomography phantom for radiochromic film dosimetry
Australasian Physics & Engineering Sciences in Medicine, 2007To evaluate in detail the dose distribution during computed tomography (CT), a sheet roll CT dosimetry phantom (SRCT-P) with a radiochromic film (RF) was experimentally developed. The SRCT-P was made by rolling up a vinyl chloride sheet in a cylindrical shape to arbitrarily select the SRCT-P diameter, dose measurement position, and depth.
