Computer-controlled dynamic phantom for ultrasound hyperthermia studies

IEEE Transactions on Biomedical Engineering, 1990
A dynamic phantom system for use in evaluating hyperthermia heating equipment has been designed, constructed, and tested. It consists of four in vitro preserved canine kidneys perfused with an 80% ethanol preparation by a single pump, plus four computer-controlled valves and four flow meters.

X-ray cone-beam breast computed tomography: Phantom studies

2008 IEEE Nuclear Science Symposium Conference Record, 2008
We present the design and preliminary imaging evaluation of an X-ray cone-beam breast computed tomography (CBBCT) apparatus, assembled for laboratory test of various optimization techniques for clinical CBBCT. The prototype is characterized by the computer-control of X-ray tube (35–80 kVp, 0.25 mA), CsI:Tl flat panel detector (12×12 cm2 area, 50 μm ...

Anthropomorphic Phantoms for Computed Tomography Scanner Performance Evaluation

Journal of Computer Assisted Tomography, 1978
Phantom simulating materials and geometries encountered in computed tomography of the head and body have been constructed. They permit the quantitative study of artifactual behavior as well as low contrast detectability and spatial resolution of a computed tomography (CT) scanner. These phantoms may be useful in comparative evaluation of CT performance

[A dynamic phantom for computer tomography].

Computertomographie, 1984
A phantom is described which has been developed for investigating factors depending on the scanner itself and on the scanned object which potentially influence the kind and the extent of motion artefacts on the CT-image. Additionally, the phantom may be applied to qualify assurance measurements in computer tomography.
