A Human Immuno‐Lung Organoid Model to Study Macrophage‐Mediated Lung Cell Senescence Upon SARS‐CoV‐2 Infection

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Immuno‐lung organoids are developed and used spatial transcriptomics to uncover how proinflammatory macrophages drive lung cell senescence via the THBS1–(ITGA3+ITGB1) axis in COVID‐19. To ensure broad accessibility, LungSpatialDB is created, an AI‐powered data portal, enabling intuitive exploration of spatial data and biological insights through ...

Multifidelity Comparison of Supersonic Wave Drag Prediction Methods Using Axisymmetric Bodies

open access: yesAerospace
Low-fidelity analytic and computational wave drag prediction methods assume linear aerodynamics and small perturbations to the flow. Hence, these methods are typically accurate for only very slender geometries.

Reduced-Order Modelling and Homogenisation in Magneto-Mechanics: A Numerical Comparison of Established Hyper-Reduction Methods

open access: yesMathematical and Computational Applications, 2019
The simulation of complex engineering structures built from magneto-rheological elastomers is a computationally challenging task. Using the FE 2 method, which is based on computational homogenisation, leads to the repetitive solution of micro ...

Semantic computing in multimedia [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the 19th ACM international conference on Multimedia, 2011
This short overview describes the contents of the tutorial Semantic computing in multimedia, which was offered to the participants of ACM Multimedia 2011. Given the impossibility of summarizing properly the contents of the tutorial in just two pages, the purpose of this overview is mainly to introduce the reader to the relevant bibliography.

Personalized Medication for Chronic Diseases Using Multimodal Data‐Driven Chain‐of‐Decisions

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A MDD‐CoD is proposed for personalized chronic disease medication. The framework simulates clinical chain‐of‐decisions through three linked deep learning tasks, validated on multi‐center datasets (3 hospitals, 4 diseases), demonstrating enhanced generalization and interpretability in cross‐disease applications.

Interactive Learning-Based Realizability for Heyting Arithmetic with EM1 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
We apply to the semantics of Arithmetic the idea of ``finite approximation'' used to provide computational interpretations of Herbrand's Theorem, and we interpret classical proofs as constructive proofs (with constructive rules for $\vee, \exists$) over ...

Empirical methods for computing phrasal and sentential semantics in Vietnamese

open access: yesVietnam Journal of Computer Science, 2017
The purpose of this paper is to build the sets of clauses in definite clause grammar, which can express the phrasal and sentential semantics. We build these sets based on the semantic models of computational and inferential methods for analyzing the ...

SCRIPT: Predicting Single‐Cell Long‐Range Cis‐Regulation Based on Pretrained Graph Attention Networks

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
SCRIPT is a novel method inferring single‐cell cis‐regulatory relationships (CRRs) from transcriptomic and chromatin accessibility data. SCRIPT incorporates two key innovations: graph causal attention networks supported by empirical CRR evidence, and representation learning enhanced through pretraining on atlas‐scale single‐cell data.

SGCD: High‐Resolution Spatial Domain Characterization via Data Interpolation and Cell‐Type Deconvolution

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
SGCD presents a novel approach for tissue spatial domain identification by employing interpolation to estimate inter‐spot gene expression and deconvolution to resolve cell‐type composition in both sampled and interstitial regions. By integrating gene expression, cell type, and spatial coordinates within a graph contrastive learning framework, SGCD ...
