Computed Tomography (CT)

2018
Computed tomography (CT) is based on attenuation of X-ray beam passing through an examined object. Linear X-ray attenuation coefficient is calculated separately for each voxel, i.e. cuboid volumetric element which constitutes each scanned layer, and the coefficients are transformed into the Hounsfield units (HU), which make it possible to estimate ...

Porencephaly: Computed tomography (CT) scan findings

Computerized Radiology, 1987
Twenty-six cases of porencephalic cysts were analyzed. The cysts were multiple in 26.9% and were associated with subarachnoid cysts in 11.5%. The main presentations were seizures, cerebral palsy and mental retardation. The unifocal cysts were mainly in the frontoparietal region, suggesting a congenital aetiology.

Single photon emission tomography/computed tomography (SPET/CT) and positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) to image cancer

Journal of Surgical Oncology, 2011
AbstractHybrid systems associating the sharpness of anatomic images coming from computed tomography (CT) and radionuclide functional imaging (SPET or PET) are opening a new era in oncology. This multimodal imaging method is now routinely used for the diagnosis, extent, follow up, treatment response and detection of occult disease in different types of ...

Computed Tomography (CT) and CT Arthrography

2003
Over the last two decades, sectional imaging has developed rapidly. Computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance (MR) imaging are now established methods of investigation of the knee and both methods continue to develop such that descriptions of the current state of the art remain valid for only months.

Computed tomography (CT) in parenchymatous cerebral cysticercosis

Clinical Radiology, 1980
Cysticercosis is an infection with a larval or a bladder-worm stage of the species of Taenia. Cysticerci have a predeliction for the nervous system where they may be found in the meninges, the ventricles and within the brain itself. Brain involvement or parenchymatous form has an acute and chronic phase.

Cardiac Computed Tomography (CT)

2016
Cardiac CT has undergone dramatic advances in technology with applications that include the assessment of coronary artery disease (CAD), evaluation of congenital abnormalities and structural function, and characterization of anatomy prior to valve and electrophysiology procedures.
