Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

Toward optimal X-ray flux utilization in breast CT [PDF]
A realistic computer-simulation of a breast computed tomography (CT) system and subject is constructed. The model is used to investigate the optimal number of views for the scan given a fixed total X-ray fluence.

Association between time to reperfusion and outcome is primarily driven by the time from imaging to reperfusion [PDF]
Background and Purpose A progressive decline in the odds of favorable outcome as time to reperfusion increases is well known. However, the impact of specific workflow intervals is not clear.; Methods We studied the mechanical thrombectomy group (n=103 ...

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve

Prediction Model for Etiologic Differentiation of Isolated Vestibular Syndrome in Emergency Settings
ABSTRACT Objective This study aimed to develop and validate a predictive model for differentiating central from peripheral etiologies in patients with isolated vestibular syndrome (VS). Methods In this multicenter retrospective cohort study, 506 patients with isolated VS from five hospitals were divided into derivation (n = 301) and validation (n = 205)

Fractal analysis of CE CT lung tumours images [PDF]
AIM The fractal dimension (FD) of a structure provides a measure of its complexity. This pilot study aims to determine FD values for lung cancers visualised on Computed Tomography (CT) and to assess the potential for tumour FD measurements to provide an ...

Acute Pulmonary Schistosomiasis: Computed Tomography (CT) Findings [PDF]
A 32 year-old white man, on his return from working in Nigeria, came for an examination of 3 weeks dry cough associated with fever and asthenia. He used to swim in fresh water in the Niger River valley for 6 months. There was no evidence of malaria. Hypereosinophilia at 18.8% was found in the blood (white blood cell [WBC] = 8,399/mm3, eosinophils cells
