Bridging the gap: Multi‐stakeholder perspectives of molecular diagnostics in oncology

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Although molecular diagnostics is transforming cancer care, implementing novel technologies remains challenging. This study identifies unmet needs and technology requirements through a two‐step stakeholder involvement. Liquid biopsies for monitoring applications and predictive biomarker testing emerge as key unmet needs. Technology requirements vary by

Computer-Aided Vaccine Design [PDF]

open access: yesHuman Vaccines & Immunotherapeutics, 2013
Vaccines, and their discovery, are topics of singular importance in present-day biomedical science. The discovery of vaccines has hitherto been primarily empirical in nature, and it is only now that this is giving way, albeit very slowly, to a more rational approach, supported and enhanced by computer-based methods.

Emerging role of ARHGAP29 in melanoma cell phenotype switching

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study gives first insights into the role of ARHGAP29 in malignant melanoma. ARHGAP29 was revealed to be connected to tumor cell plasticity, promoting a mesenchymal‐like, invasive phenotype and driving tumor progression. Further, it modulates cell spreading by influencing RhoA/ROCK signaling and affects SMAD2 activity. Rho GTPase‐activating protein

Identification of the viscoelastic boundary conditions of Euler‐Bernoulli beams using transmissibility

open access: yesEngineering Reports, 2019
A new method to identify the viscoelastic boundary conditions of Euler‐Bernoulli beams under forced response is here presented. The boundary conditions and transmissibility function with viscoelastic expressions in terms of the Green function are ...

Computer-aided discovery of connected metal-organic frameworks

open access: yesNature Communications, 2019
Composite metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) tend to possess complex interfaces that prevent facile and rational design. Here we present a joint computational/experimental workflow that screens thousands of MOFs and identifies the optimal MOF pairs that can

Modeling hepatic fibrosis in TP53 knockout iPSC‐derived human liver organoids

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study developed iPSC‐derived human liver organoids with TP53 gene knockout to model human liver fibrosis. These organoids showed elevated myofibroblast activation, early disease markers, and advanced fibrotic hallmarks. The use of profibrotic differentiation medium further amplified the fibrotic signature seen in the organoids.
