Computer-aided analysis of concurrent systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 1985
The introduction of concurrency into programs has added to the complexity of the software design process. This is most evident in the design of communications protocols where concurrency is inherent to the behavior of the system. The complexity exhibited

Computer-aided diagnosis for colonoscopy [PDF]

open access: yesEndoscopy, 2017
Several studies have shown that colonoscopy is associated with a reduction in colorectal cancer mortality. This benefit is based on the detection and resection of any neoplastic polyps; however, polyps can be missed during screening colonoscopy and endoscopists may not be able to differentiate between neoplastic and non-neoplastic polyps.

The IQ‐compete assay for measuring mitochondrial protein import efficiencies in living yeast cells

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The efficiency of mitochondrial protein import depends on the properties of the newly synthesized precursor proteins. The Import and de‐Quenching Competition (IQ‐compete) assay is a novel method to monitor the import efficiency of different proteins by fluorescence in living yeast cells.

Structural insights into lacto‐N‐biose I recognition by a family 32 carbohydrate‐binding module from Bifidobacterium bifidum

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Bifidobacterium bifidum establishes symbiosis with infants by metabolizing lacto‐N‐biose I (LNB) from human milk oligosaccharides (HMOs). The extracellular multidomain enzyme LnbB drives this process, releasing LNB via its catalytic glycoside hydrolase family 20 (GH20) lacto‐N‐biosidase domain.
