Theory of computer aided fixture design
Computers in Industry, 1990Abstract This paper deals with theoretical questions of computer aided fixture design. The focus of the contribution are principles of modeling engineering objects. Theoretical inputs have their basis in the design system of the general model of the fixture and its interpreting.

Computer-aided design of power shafts for various design theories
Computer-Aided Design, 1984Computer-aided design of shafts transmitting power between rotating elements is attempted. Such shafts need to be designed to survive against fatigue failures, and still be optimum using minimum amounts of material and should also satisfy the strength and deflection restrictions.

Computer aided teaching of energy band theory in solids
3D Africon Conference. Africon '92 Proceedings (Cat. No.92CH3215), 2003The formation of energy bands in crystals is a consequence of the periodicity of the lattice potential. By numerically solving the time-independent Schrodinger equation for a structure of repetitive potential wells, the authors show how bands are formed and how Brillouin zones can easily be obtained.

Beyond Flory's Theory: A Computer Aided Phenomenology for Polymers
Molecular Simulation, 1996Abstract Extending the histogram method of Ferrenberg and Swendsen to the problem of a SAW in a bad solvent, we obtain a new expression for the free energy of such a system, which fits very properly the numerical results of our Monte Carlo simulations. The basic difference with Flory's theory lies in the reference system: instead of considering random ...

The theory and practice of bipartisan constitutional computer-aided redistricting
Proceedings of the May 18-20, 1971, spring joint computer conference on - AFIPS '71 (Spring), 1971The theory behind bipartisan constitutional computer-aided redistricting essentially consists of three normative criteria which any systematic legislative redistricting scheme probably ought to seek to achieve. First, the redistricting system ought to be feasible such that it keeps computer time and other costs down to a minimum.

Computer-aided group decision making: Theory and practice
Technological Forecasting and Social Change, 1975Abstract The problem considered is that of aiding large, technically unsophisticated groups to make quantitative policy decisions in real time in one sitting. Utility theory approaches, as well as Delphi and cross-impact matrices are discussed. The application of computer technology to such decision making situations is considered and the results of ...
