CAVASS: a computer-assisted visualization and analysis software system - image processing aspects [PDF]
ABSTRACT The development of the concepts within 3DVIEWNIX and of the software system 3DVIEWNIX itself dates back to the 1970s. Since then, a series of software packages for Computer Assisted Visualization and Analysis (CAVA ) of images came out from our group, 3DVIEWNIX released in 1993, being the most recent, and all were distributed with source code.

Classical image processing vs. computer vision techniques in automated computer-assisted detection of follicles in ultrasound images of ovary [PDF]
A complete understanding of follicle dynamics inside ovary is crucial for the field of genetic engineering. Monitoring follicles over entire cycle is especially important in human reproduction. In Gore et al. (see Human Reproduction, no.10, p.2313-19, 1995) is stated that the outcome of a pregnancy is dependent upon the quality of the embryo.
