A computerized image-processing system has been developed for quantitative analyses of the autoradiographs obtained with the [14C]deoxyglucose method. By means of this system, these cerebral metabolic images can be digitized and the resultant data can be manipulated for image construction, enhancement, enlargement, and microdensitometric analysis.

This work establishes an objective method to measure cell clonogenic survival by computer-assisted image processing using images of cell cultures fixed and stained in Petri dishes. The procedure, developed by Samba Technologies, consists of acquiring Petri dish pictures with a desktop scanner and analysing them by computer, using algorithms based on ...

A multicentre comparison of computer assisted image processing and display methods in scintigraphy
Using a series of 100 brain scintigrams, 50 with single 'mathematical tumours' superimposed, a comparison is made of several processing and display methods used at various institutions in the United Kingdom. The survey compares results from seven centres and includes most types of computer generated display in current use.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate a method for computer-assisted image processing to assess quantitatively fractional bone volume in sections of bone biopsies (part I). A second purpose was to apply this method in an experimental study to determine bone loss by measuring fractional bone area in sections of calvarial bone of gastrectomized rats ...

<title>Computer-assisted image processing for lung cancer localization</title>
Autofluorescence of the tumor and surrounding tissue is the largest background source in fluorescence diagnosis. A new system which applied computer image processing technique to lung cancer localization by laser fluorescence bronchoscopy has been developed to subtract the autofluorescence background.

A general purpose image processing system is described including B/W TV camera, high resolution image processor and display system (TESAK VDC 501), computer (DEC PDP 11/23), and monochrome and color monitors. Images may be acquired from a microscope equipped with a TV camera or using the TV in direct viewing; the A/D converter and the image processor ...

Computer-assisted image processing 12 lead ECG model to diagnose hyperkalemia
Journal of Electrocardiology, 2017We sought to develop an improved 12 lead ECG model to diagnose hyperkalemia by use of traditional and novel parameters. We retrospectively analyzed ECGs in consecutive hyperkalemic patients (serum potassium (K)>5.3mEq/L) by blinded investigators with normokalemic ECGs as internal controls.

AbstractThe general objective of this study was to develop a noninva‐sive method for efficiently and reproducibly determining relative cardiac function parameters in the chick embryo. The specific objectives of the study were 1) to develop several methods for computer‐assisted image processing and quan‐titation of relative intraventricular blood ...

Image processing techniques in computer-assisted patch clamping
Patch clamping is used in electrophysiology to study single or multiple ion channels in cells. Multiple micropipettes are used as electrodes to collect data from several cells. Placement of these electrodes is a time consuming and complicated task due to the lack of depth perception, limited view through the microscope lens and the possibility of ...
