Empathic Computer Architectures and Systems

Proceedings of the 13th international conference on Architectural support for programming languages and operating systems, 2008
Any computer system ultimately aims to satisfy the end user. However, computer design, evaluation, and optimization typically leave the user out-of-the-loop. Recent studies [1, 3, 5] indicate that there is significant optimization potential in considering the user when making system-level decisions.

Cloud Computing: Architecture and Operating System

2016 Global Summit on Computer & Information Technology (GSCIT), 2016
Nowadays, cloud computing has become the center of attention in the IT world. It provides powerful computing services to individuals and organizations via the Internet, and enables them to access a pool of shared resources such as storage servers and applications. Businesses of all sizes are adopting cloud computing at an increasing rate as it provides

Design and evaluation system for computer architecture

Proceedings of the June 4-8, 1973, national computer conference and exposition on - AFIPS '73, 1973
Recent progress of IC and LSI technology and advances in microprogramming technique have had a major impact on computer architecture. Rapidly decreasing logic and memory costs and ever increasing programming costs justify more trade-offs being carried out from software to firmware and/or hardware, and many experimental or commercial models, which stand

Algorithms and architectures to computational systems implementation

Proceedings of IEEE 5th International Workshop on Rapid System Prototyping, 2002
This paper describes some techniques currently under research to explore hardware-software tradeoffs during a system development. We show that the moving of SW operations to HW can be further improved if the source code is modified in order to increase the overall parallelism of the system.

ARCHITECTURE AND DESIGN OF COMPUTER-ASSISTED INSTRUCTION SYSTEMS

eLearning and Software for Education, 2013
The multitude of innovations which assault us in all areas of life made necessary "the education for change". Through education, people must ensure the ability to develop the capacity to understand and respond appropriately to various challenges from society, to become agents of their own training, to organize and structure their own knowledge. As time

Computer system architecture for image and spectral processing

Proceedings, annual meeting, Electron Microscopy Society of America, 1987
In this paper we shall discuss digital imaging and spectroscopy systems from the perspective of a system designer and we shall concentrate on those design choices that limit performance in microscopy and analysis applications. The hardware of a computer system can be broken down into three main components.

Architecture and grid application of cluster computing system

SPIE Proceedings, 2004
Recently, people pay more attention to the grid technology. It can incorporate high-speed network, high performance computer, large database, sensor and remote equipment etc. Moreover, it can not only connect all kinds of resources in the network and also put them into a super transparent computing environment for customers.

Generalization of computing systems: the architecture and organization

International Journal of Systems Science, 1974
Modern computers are primarily binary. Proposed in this paper is a new generalized computing system, by which a number system of any arbitrary radix can be manipulated directly without encoders and decoders. The feature of being able to vary the radix is achieved by pulse counting with alterable carry conditions.
