Text, graphics, and multimedia materials employed in learning a computer-based procedural task [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The present research study investigated the interaction of graphic design students with different forms of software training materials. Four versions of the procedural task instructions were developed (A) Traditional Textbook with Still Images, (B ...

A Robust Approach Towards Distinguishing Natural and Computer Generated Images using Multi-Colorspace fused and Enriched Vision Transformer

open access: yes, 2023
The works in literature classifying natural and computer generated images are mostly designed as binary tasks either considering natural images versus computer graphics images only or natural images versus GAN generated images only, but not natural ...

Recent Advances in Transient Imaging: A Computer Graphics and Vision Perspective [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2016
Transient imaging has recently made a huge impact in the computer graphics and computer vision fields. By capturing, reconstructing, or simulating light transport at extreme temporal resolutions, researchers have proposed novel techniques to show movies of light in motion, see around corners, detect objects in highly-scattering media, or infer material

Graphic Symbol Recognition using Graph Based Signature and Bayesian Network Classifier [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
We present a new approach for recognition of complex graphic symbols in technical documents. Graphic symbol recognition is a well known challenge in the field of document image analysis and is at heart of most graphic recognition systems. Our method uses structural approach for symbol representation and statistical classifier for symbol recognition. In

Gut microbiota diversity is prognostic and associated with benefit from chemo‐immunotherapy in metastatic triple‐negative breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We assessed the associations between the gut microbiota and outcome in metastatic triple‐negative breast cancer patients treated with chemotherapy alone or chemotherapy in combination with immunotherapy. Our data indicate that high gut microbiota alpha diversity was associated with improved clinical outcome and with benefit from immunotherapy.

How to turn the page [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
Can digital libraries provide a reading experience that more closely resembles a real book than a scrolled or paginated electronic display? This paper describes a prototype page-turning system that realistically animates full three-dimensional page-turns.

Text/Graphics Separation for Business Card Images for Mobile Devices [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2010
Separation of the text regions from background texture and graphics is an important step of any optical character recognition sytem for the images containg both texts and graphics. In this paper, we have presented a novel text/graphics separation technique for business card images captured with a cell-phone camera.
