Defect-Intent Ambiguity Addressing for Training-Free Deterministic PCB Defect Localization via Template Selection and Dissimilarity Mapping

open access: yesSensors
Automated optical inspection (AOI) for printed circuit boards (PCBs) requires localizing small, sparse defects under illumination drift and minor placement misalignment, while supporting fast, auditable pass/fail decisions. This paper presents a training-

Electromyography-Based Sign Language Recognition: A Low-Channel Approach for Classifying Fruit Name Gestures

open access: yesSignals
This paper presents a method for recognizing sign language gestures corresponding to fruit names using electromyography (EMG) signals. The proposed system focuses on classification using a limited number of EMG channels, aiming to reduce classification ...

Polarization‐resolved femtosecond Vis/IR spectroscopy tailored for resolving weak signals in biological samples using minimal sample volume

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Unique biological samples, such as site‐specific mutant proteins, are available only in limited quantities. Here, we present a polarization‐resolved transient infrared spectroscopy setup with referencing to improve signal‐to‐noise tailored towards tracing small signals. We provide an overview of characterizing the excitation conditions for polarization‐

Hardware optimization for photonic time-delay reservoir computer dynamics

open access: yesNeuromorphic Computing and Engineering, 2023
Reservoir computing (RC) is one kind of neuromorphic computing mainly applied to process sequential data such as time-dependent signals. In this paper, the bifurcation diagram of a photonic time-delay RC system is thoroughly studied, and a method of ...

Cryogenic Embedded System to Support Quantum Computing: From 5-nm FinFET to Full Processor

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Quantum Engineering, 2023
Quantum computing can enable novel algorithms infeasible for classical computers. For example, new material synthesis and drug optimization could benefit if quantum computers offered more quantum bits (qubits).

Analysing the significance of small conformational changes and low occupancy states in serial crystallographic data

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.
