The Computational Theory of Intelligence: Applications to Genetic Programming and Turing Machines [PDF]
In this paper, we continue the efforts of the Computational Theory of Intelligence (CTI) by extending concepts to include computational processes in terms of Genetic Algorithms (GA's) and Turing Machines (TM's). Active, Passive, and Hybrid Computational Intelligence processes are also introduced and discussed.

Abstract Purpose This study quantitatively evaluates bladder changes and their dosimetric impact during the on‐couch adaptive process on a commercial CBCT‐based online adaptive radiotherapy (CT‐gART) platform. Methods Data from 183 fractions of ten patients receiving online ART for pelvic cancers were analyzed retrospectively.

On the role of the plasmodial cytoskeleton in facilitating intelligent behaviour in slime mould Physarum polycephalum [PDF]
The plasmodium of slime mould Physarum polycephalum behaves as an amorphous reaction-diffusion computing substrate and is capable of apparently intelligent behaviour. But how does intelligence emerge in an acellular organism? Through a range of laboratory experiments, we visualise the plasmodial cytoskeleton, a ubiquitous cellular protein scaffold ...

Log file‐based quality assurance method for respiratory gating system
Abstract Background As medical linear accelerator technology advances, enabling higher dose rate deliveries, hypofractionation regimens has increased. This necessitates respiratory gating systems that synchronize radiation delivery with tumor position, requiring simple rigorous quality assurance (QA) to ensure treatment accuracy and patient safety ...

Development of a Disease Model for Predicting Postoperative Delirium Using Combined Blood Biomarkers
ABSTRACT Objective Postoperative delirium, a common neurocognitive complication after surgery and anesthesia, requires early detection for potential intervention. Herein, we constructed a multidimensional postoperative delirium risk‐prediction model incorporating multiple demographic parameters and blood biomarkers to enhance prediction accuracy ...

Cost-Benefit Analysis of Data Intelligence -- Its Broader Interpretations [PDF]
The core of data science is our fundamental understanding about data intelligence processes for transforming data to decisions. One aspect of this understanding is how to analyze the cost-benefit of data intelligence workflows. This work is built on the information-theoretic metric proposed by Chen and Golan for this purpose and several recent studies ...

Summary Data‐driven forecasting of ship motions in waves is investigated through feedforward and recurrent neural networks as well as dynamic mode decomposition. The goal is to predict future ship motion variables based on past data collected on the field, using equation‐free approaches.
