Trends in complexity theories and computation in the social sciences.
Nonlinear dynamics, psychology, and life sciences, 2004A modified bibliometric study and citation analysis of the use of complexity theories, encompassing chaos and complexity theory, and computational simulation in published literature was conducted. Articles published during 1971-1999 in four disciplines were examined: business, education, psychology and sociology.

Computational Text Analysis for Social Science: Model Assumptions and Complexity
2018Across many disciplines, interest is increasing in the use of computational text analysis in the service of social science questions. We survey the spectrum of current methods, which lie on two dimensions: (1) computational and statistical model complexity; and (2) domain assumptions.
