Differential geometry of surfaces and Heisenberg ferromagnets [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2003
The relation between differential geometry of surfaces and some Heisenberg ferromagnet models is considered.

Analysis of Temperature and Stress Distribution on the Bond Properties of Hybrid Tailored Formed Components

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Hybrid materials enable high‐performance components but are challenging to process. This study explores an inductive heating concept with spray cooling for steel–aluminum specimens in a two‐step process including friction welding and cup backward extrusion.

Galilean geometry of motions [PDF]

open access: yesApplied Sciences, Vol.11, pp. 91-105, 2009, 2007
In this paper we show that Galilean group is a matrix Lie group and find its structure. Then provide the invariants of special Galilean geometry of motions, by Olver's method of moving coframes, we also find the corresponding $\{e\}-$structure.

Influence of Form and Structural Features of Open‐Cell Hybrid Foam on the Remanent Magnetic Scanning

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Simulations using an equivalent model are performed to improve the understanding of remanent magnetic scanning of hybrid foam samples for coating thickness estimation. The model allows to study the influence of isolated geometrical features such as layer thickness, boundary effects, as well as effects due to the statistical nature of the foams, which ...

Lie Algebroids and Classification Problems in Geometry [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2007
We show how one can associate to a given class of finite type G-structures a classifying Lie algebroid. The corresponding Lie groupoid gives models for the different geometries that one can find in the class, and encodes also the different types of symmetry groups.

Static and Dynamic Behavior of Novel Y‐Shaped Sandwich Beams Subjected to Compressive Loadings: Integration of Supervised Learning and Experimentation

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
In this study, the mechanical response of Y‐shaped core sandwich beams under compressive loading is investigated, using deep feed‐forward neural networks (DFNNs) for predictive modeling. The DFNN model accurately captures stress–strain behavior, influenced by design parameters and loading rates.

Survey of Gravity in Non-Commutative Geometry [PDF]

open access: yesEditions Hermann Sciences (Europe) and Cambridge University Press, 2009, 2009
We present a survey of the application of Cones' Non-Commutative Geometry to gravitation. Bases of the theory and Euclidian gravity models are reviewed. Then we discuss the problem of a Lorentzian generalization of the theory and review existing attempts of solution.

Consolidate Overview of Ribonucleic Acid Molecular Dynamics: From Molecular Movements to Material Innovations

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Molecular dynamics simulations are advancing the study of ribonucleic acid (RNA) and RNA‐conjugated molecules. These developments include improvements in force fields, long‐timescale dynamics, and coarse‐grained models, addressing limitations and refining methods.

Role of symmetry in quantitative EMCD experiments [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2009
We have analysed a number of experimental geometries (two and three-beam geometry, general systematic row setup, zone axis orientation) for the electron magnetic circular dichroism measurements (EMCD). The effect of asymmetries in those setups is described in detail, explaining the advantages of the three-beam geometry.

Powder Metallurgy and Additive Manufacturing of High‐Nitrogen Alloyed FeCr(Si)N Stainless Steel

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The alloying element Nitrogen enhances stainless steel strength, corrosion resistance, and stabilizes austenite. This study develops austenitic FeCr(Si)N steel production via powder metallurgy. Fe20Cr and Si3N4 are hot isostatically pressed, creating an austenitic microstructure.
