New science from high–performance computing: an introduction
Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society of London. Series A: Mathematical, Physical and Engineering Sciences, 2002Computational methods have for many years had a major impact on a wide range of scientific disciplines including physical, biological and environmental sciences and engineering. Indeed, the ability to model and simulate complex systems is an indispensable component of contemporary scientific research.

High-performance Computing in Molecular Sciences
2000A task which is very common in theoretical chemistry, physics, and engineering — solving the generalized symmetric eigenvalue problem — is discussed. In the considered examples modern quantum chemical methods are applied to solve the Schrodinger equation with a molecular Hamiltonian operator.

High Performance Computing in Engineering and Science
2006High Performance Computing (HPC) has left the realm of large laboratories and centers and has become a central part in simulation in engineering and science. We summarize the basic problems and describe the state of the art. A concept for an integrated approach is presented. This covers hardware and software aspects.
