Immune Checkpoint Inhibitor–Related Myositis and Associated Triad Overlap Syndrome

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Immune checkpoint inhibitor (ICI) myositis is a rare but a highly morbid condition, particularly with the ICI myositis triad syndrome of myositis, myocarditis, and myasthenia gravis. We report the clinical characteristics of ICI myositis and all‐cause mortality in these patients.

Associations of Rheumatoid Arthritis Disease Activity With Frailty Over Five Years of Follow‐up

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective To evaluate whether rheumatoid arthritis (RA) disease activity is associated with frailty both in cross‐section and longitudinally. Methods Participants within the Veterans Affairs Rheumatoid Arthritis (VARA) registry enrolled from 2003 to 2022 were included.

ImMApp: An Immersive Database of Sound Art [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
The ImMApp (Immersive Mapping Application) thesis addresses contemporary and historical sound art from a position informed by, on one hand, post-structural critical theory, and on the other, a practice-based exploration of contemporary digital ...

Ambient Sound Provides Supervision for Visual Learning

open access: yes, 2016
The sound of crashing waves, the roar of fast-moving cars – sound conveys important information about the objects in our surroundings. In this work, we show that ambient sounds can be used as a supervisory signal for learning visual models.

Frailty Predicts Incident Osteoporotic Fractures in Veterans with Rheumatoid Arthritis

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, Accepted Article.
Background/Objective Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is associated with an increased risk of frailty and osteoporosis, but the relationship between frailty and incident osteoporotic fractures in RA is underexplored. Methods Data were from the Veterans Affairs Rheumatoid Arthritis (VARA) Registry.

Sound, Code, Class: Live coding as a medium of computer science education in schools and science communication

open access: yes
This paper reflects on our experiences with musical live coding as an entry point to computer science education in both school-based and public contexts. Based on formats such as teaching units, teacher training, and an interactive booth at the "Lange Nacht der Technik" we explore how tools like Strudel can foster accessible engagement with algorithmic

Computational modelling of acoustic scattering of a sound source in the vicinity of the ground [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
The paper presents a computational model for acoustic scattering of a near-the- ground sound source around a body moving in a uniform flow. Using the method of images and the concept of reflection coefficient, the half space Green's function in a ...

Characterization of Defect Distribution in an Additively Manufactured AlSi10Mg as a Function of Processing Parameters and Correlations with Extreme Value Statistics

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Predicting extreme defects in additive manufacturing remains a key challenge limiting its structural reliability. This study proposes a statistical framework that integrates Extreme Value Theory with advanced process indicators to explore defect–process relationships and improve the estimation of critical defect sizes. The approach provides a basis for
