Galois connections and computer science applications

1986
We have presented an existence theorem and some important properties of Galois connections. We have also shown how data structures problems can be simplified and better understood when Galois insertions are used. In particular, the proof of correctness of an implementation follows simply from the construction of a Galois insertion.

Innovative applications of computer science in medicine

Proceedings of the May 19-22, 1975, national computer conference and exposition on - AFIPS '75, 1975
For a variety of economic, social and geographical reasons, there currently exists a maldistribution of medical expertise with respect to the needs of the population both in this country and perhaps more markedly abroad. The particular characteristics of the computer, its large memory and the industry of its computing engine, suggest the possibility of

Computer Applications in Fisheries Science

Transactions of the American Fisheries Society, 1975
Abstract Most uses of computers in fisheries science can be categorized as: (1) data tabulation, processing, and analysis; (2) automated and semi-automated monitoring systems; (3) educational, especially at the university level; (4) simulation to evaluate management strategies; (5) simulation to learn basic system properties, especially ecological ...
