Machine Learning‐Based Design of 3D‐Printable Microneedles for Enhanced Tissue Anchoring with Reduced Tissue Damage

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A machine learning‐driven framework is introduced to optimize 3D‐printable microneedles for enhanced tissue anchoring and reduced insertion damage. The optimized design achieves a 6.0‐fold improvement in pull‐out‐to‐penetration energy ratio over conventional shapes.

Evaluation Strategies of Hil48 Yield Criterion in Application: Toward Sufficient and Necessary Conditions for Prediction of Plastic Anisotropy

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This article presents a comprehensive analysis of the intrinsic relationships and applicability of Hill48 yield criterion. The applicability and error evaluation conditions for Hill48 are established based on specific experimental data. A parameter calibration strategy for N‐value based on error minimization is proposed, and the predictive accuracy is ...

Laser Remelting of a CrMnFeCoNi High‐Entropy Alloy: Effect of Energy Density on Elemental Segregation

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Laser remelting of a CrMnFeCoNi high‐entropy alloy reveals that optimal chemical homogenization occurs between 30 and 40 J·mm−2. Within this range, elemental segregation is reduced by over 30% compared to the as‐cast state. The study establishes this window as a fast, effective alternative to prolonged annealing for achieving uniform elemental ...

Electronic Control System for Optimized Resonance Operation of Dielectric Elastomer Pumps through Self‐Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A powerful electronic control system enables a dielectric elastomer pump to operate at resonance, matching conventional pump performance. Using self‐sensing to reconstruct load pressure dynamically, the adaptive control adjusts resonance frequency accordingly.

Soft Beats: A Dielectric Elastomer‐Based Ventricular Assist Device for Next‐Gen Heart Failure Management

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The dielectric elastomer‐based electropneumatic device (DE‐EPD) is a vacuum‐assisted ventricular assist device (VAD) that delivers high performance (85 mmHg, 6.8 L min−1) with low power consumption. Unlike traditional motor‐driven VADs, it is lightweight, quiet, energy‐efficient, and provides pulsatile flow. Validated in a simulated circulation system,
