Vision Transformers in Medical Computer Vision -- A Contemplative Retrospection [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2022
Recent escalation in the field of computer vision underpins a huddle of algorithms with the magnificent potential to unravel the information contained within images. These computer vision algorithms are being practised in medical image analysis and are transfiguring the perception and interpretation of Imaging data.

Computer vision on tap [PDF]

open access: yes2009 IEEE Computer Society Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition Workshops, 2009
We demonstrate a concept of computer vision as a secure, live service on the Internet. We show a platform to distribute a real time vision algorithm using simple widely available Web technologies, such as Adobe Flash. We allow a user to access this service without downloading an executable or sharing the image stream with anyone.

Canonical circuit computations for computer vision

open access: yesBiological Cybernetics, 2023
AbstractAdvanced computer vision mechanisms have been inspired by neuroscientific findings. However, with the focus on improving benchmark achievements, technical solutions have been shaped by application and engineering constraints. This includes the training of neural networks which led to the development of feature detectors optimally suited to the ...

Negative Results in Computer Vision: A Perspective

open access: yes, 2017
A negative result is when the outcome of an experiment or a model is not what is expected or when a hypothesis does not hold. Despite being often overlooked in the scientific community, negative results are results and they carry value.

Characterisation of the role played by ELMO1, GPR141 and the intergenic polymorphism rs918980 in Fuchs' dystrophy in the Indian population

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This study reports the upregulation of ELMO1 and GPR141 in human Fuchs' endothelial corneal dystrophy (FECD) corneal endothelium and ultraviolet A‐induced FECD mice model. A genetic association of an intergenic single nucleotide polymorphism rs918980 present between both genes is observed with FECD in the Indian population.
