Multifunctional, Flexible and Interactive PVDF Fibers with Tunable Conductivity via CNT Coatings for Sensing and Smart Textile Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A two‐step fabrication strategy combines electrospinning with electrophoretic deposition of carbon nanotubes to produce conductive, porous PVDF fiber mats. These flexible composites serve as multifunctional sensors, capable of detecting pressure, motion, respiration, and temperature.

Photonic Engineering Enables All‐Passive Upconversion Imaging with Low‐Intensity Near‐Infrared Light

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A passive upconversion imaging system enables the observation of scenes illuminated by low‐intensity incoherent near‐infrared light from 750 to 930 nm, by converting it into the visible without the use of external power. The upconverter is enabled by triplet–triplet annihilation in a bulk heterojunction, with absorption enhanced by plasmonic resonators

Inducing Chirality and Chiral Instabilities in Ferrogels with Homogenous Magnetic Fields

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
By pre‐aligning magnetic particles into chains, significant chiral deformations are induced by fixing the base of a cylindrical actuator and applying a homogeneous magnetic field. Subsequent base rotation can drive the system into metastable states. Further rotation or reduction of field strength triggers a chiral instability, characterized by a switch

Realization of Complex‐Shaped Magnetic Nanotubes with 3D Printing and Electrodeposition

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Complex‐shaped magnetic nanotubes were fabricated by coating three‐dimensional nanoscaffolds fabricated with focused electron beam induced deposition with a magnetic coating via electrodeposition. X‐ray magnetic microscopy and simulations revealed an azimuthal magnetic configuration within the nanotubes and pinning of domain walls at curved vertices ...
