Handheld Computers for Surgical Logbooks

open access: yesThe Journal of Surgery, 2004
AbstractOne of my favourite books is Michael Bliss' biography of the great Sir William Osler1. Osler is often described as the greatest of all modern physicians, and it is a joy to read about his achievements. One habit that he cultivated and encouraged his trainees to adopt was taking their work with them wherever they went.

Rapid and Direct Detection of Methamphetamine in Biofluids using a MXene‐Enabled Electrochemical Sensor

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A MXene‐enhanced electrochemical sensor enables the rapid and direct detection of methamphetamine. Molecular simulations reveal that specific MXene surface functional groups act as key signal amplifiers by facilitating interfacial interactions. The sensor demonstrates high sensitivity and robust performance in complex biological matrices.

Rapid Design and Fabrication of Body Conformable Surfaces with Kirigami Cutting and Machine Learning

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
By integrating the principles of kirigami cutting and data‐driven modeling, this study aims to develop a personalized, rapid, and low‐cost design and fabrication pipeline for creating body‐conformable surfaces around the knee joint. This pipeline presents a balanced trade‐off between conformability performance and cost for personalizing wearables, thus

Tuning Li+ and Na+ Functionality in Renewable Carbon Electroactive Material Through Site‐Specific Nanostructural Disorder

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents a selective thermal transformation of polycarbonate into hybrid carbon materials. The structured carbon enhances electrochemical performance, particularly in lithium‐ion systems. Investigations reveal improved bimetallic ion diffusivity through the hybrid microstructure, contributing to excellent charge kinetics.
