Modeling deep-bed grain drying using Comsol Multiphysics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
CFD simulations were carried out to predict the convective heat and mass transfer coefficients in the rice bed, and correlations were developed for the convective heat and mass transfer coefficients as a function of drying air flow rate.

Optimization of an electret-based energy harvester

open access: yes, 2011
Thanks to miniaturisation, it is today possible to imagine self-powered systems that use vibrations to produce their own electrical energy. Many energy-harvesting systems already exist. Some of them are based on the use of electrets: electrically charged

High‐Performance Millimeter Scale Electromagnetic Generator

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A high‐performance millimeter‐scale electromagnetic generator (mmEMG) is developed using magnetic flux concentrator (MFC) films on both coil ends to enhance magnetic flux. Through simulations and experiments, structural and magnetic properties are optimized, achieving a 5.6‐fold electrical output improvement.

Insight on the complete process of photoacoustic generation and propagation of cerebrovascular in brain via multi-physics coupling method

open access: yesAIP Advances
The presence of the skull hinders photoacoustic imaging from being used for brain imaging. In order to understand the mechanism of photoacoustic signal generation of cerebrovascular in the presence of skull, a photoacoustic model of cerebrovascular was ...

Efficient Ambient‐All‐Laser‐Annealed Wide Bandgap Perovskite Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
First demonstration of ambient laser annealing for both self‐assembly monolayer type hole transport layer and high bandgap (1.80eV) perovskite solar cells. First 3D modeling of macroscopic and localized temperature profiles revealed the advantage of laser annealing for temperature‐sensitive substrates.

Simulating Organogenesis in COMSOL: Comparison Of Methods For Simulating Branching Morphogenesis

open access: yes, 2017
During organogenesis tissue grows and deforms. The growth processes are controlled by diffusible proteins, so-called morphogens. Many different patterning mechanisms have been proposed.
