The Simulation Analysis of IGBT Module Based on COMSOL
Abstract IGBT, as the core device of high-capacity power electronic equipment, its stability is directly relevant to the normal operation of the equipment. It would cause system failure and major security incidents if aging failure phenomenon occurs. A complex multi-physical field coupling process is involved in the aging failure of IGBT.

Design study of a thermocouple power sensor as a monolithic fin-line [PDF]
Making traceable power measurements above 110 GHz using current measurement technologies is challenging. We investigate a design of power sensor consisting of a thermocouple-based integrated circuit (IC) mounted as a finline component in WR-6 waveguide ...

Simulating multi-channel vacuum phototriodes using COMSOL
Abstract Vacuum phototriodes have been used for a number of years in particle physics experiments. For example, they were used in the OPAL experiment at LEP and are currently used in the endcap calorimeter of the CMS experiment at CERN’s Large Hadron Collider.

Electric Field Determination in DC Polymeric Power Cable in the Presence of Space Charge [PDF]
The pulsed electroacoustic (PEA) technique was used to perform space charge measurements in polymeric power cables. However, for a practical dc power cable the electric field is affected by conductivity of the material, which is a function of both ...

Hot‐Film and Calorimetric Methods With Transient Heating for Measurement of High Biofluid Flow Rate
Accurate measurement of biofluid flow rate is vital for clinical diagnostics. We propose a transient heating strategy using short thermal pulses and peak temperature tracking to enhance the flow sensitivity of the hot‐Film and calorimetric methods. Simulations show how optimal heating time maximizes sensitivity across flow rates.

Effective electrothermal analysis of electronic devices and systems with parameterized macromodeling [PDF]
We propose a parameterized macromodeling methodology to effectively and accurately carry out dynamic electrothermal (ET) simulations of electronic components and systems, while taking into account the influence of key design parameters on the system ...
