Longitudinal Alzheimer’s Disease Progression Modelling via Hybrid Vision Transformers and Recurrent Neural Networks With Cross‐Modal Feature Fusion

open access: yesExpert Systems, Volume 43, Issue 3, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Modelling the evolution of Alzheimer's disease (AD) requires a thorough spatiotemporal study of longitudinal neuroimaging data. We propose in this paper a novel deep learning framework that uses a parallel combination of Recurrent Neural Networks (RNNs) and Vision Transformers (ViT) to extract temporal disease dynamics and spatial structural ...

Sequential Reservoir Computing for Log File‐Based Behavior Process Data Analyses

open access: yesJournal of Educational Measurement, Volume 63, Issue 1, Spring 2026.
Abstract The use of process data in assessment has gained attention in recent years as more assessments are administered by computers. Process data, recorded in computer log files, capture the sequence of examinees' response activities, for example, timestamped keystrokes, during the assessment.

AI and Measurement Concerns: Dealing with Imbalanced Data in Autoscoring

open access: yesJournal of Educational Measurement, Volume 63, Issue 1, Spring 2026.
Abstract Unbiasedness for proficiency estimates is important for autoscoring engines since the outcome might be used for future learning or placement. Imbalanced training data may lead to certain biases and lower the prediction accuracy for classification algorithms.

Toward precision oncology: An integrative multi‐omics approach for prognosis prediction and inferred immunotherapy responsiveness in breast cancer

open access: yesClinical and Translational Discovery, Volume 6, Issue 1, February 2026.
We integrated four omics to build a breast cancer immunotherapy predictor. Survival‐associated biomarkers were compressed into 200 latent features via an autoencoder, then refined using three survival models. K‐means defined two subgroups (C1, high‐risk and C2, low‐risk).

Effective Connectivity Reveals Dual‐Route Mechanism of Visual Prediction Precision via Insula and Pulvinar

open access: yesHuman Brain Mapping, Volume 47, Issue 2, 01 February 2026.
Using 7‐Tesla fMRI and dynamic causal modelling (DCM), we identified a dual‐route mechanism for high‐precision predictions: direct excitatory modulation from the insula to V1, and indirect inhibitory modulation from the insula to V1 via the pulvinar.
