Decoding of Generalized Concatenated Codes Over the One-Lee Error Channel for the McEliece Cryptosystem

International Symposium on Information Theory, 2022
The code-based McEliece cryptosystem is a promising candidate for post-quantum cryptography. The sender encodes a message, using a public scrambled generator matrix, and adds a random error vector.

Maximal Length Burst Error Correction for Concatenated Packet/Vector Symbol Codes

open access: closedIEEE Communications Letters, 2013
This letter shows how to extend packet/vector symbol burst error correction capability beyond prior known limits with the aid of soft information interaction with the inner code of a concatenated code. If the errors prove not to be in a burst, further correction still is possible with the aid of soft inner code information.

Synchronization and Asymmetric Error Correction for Nanopore Sequencing

International Conference on Consumer Electronics-Taiwan, 2021
Nanopore sequencing is prone to synchronization and asymmetric substitution errors. Error correction coding suitable for correcting these errors is required to improve the reliability of DNA storage.

Generalized concatenated codes for correcting two-dimensional clusters of errors and independent errors

2014 IEEE 11th International Multi-Conference on Systems, Signals & Devices (SSD14), 2014
Correction of two-dimensional error clusters is required in many storage systems. Most known error correction systems for such errors are based on two-dimensional interleaving and interleaved codes. However, interleaved codes are not well suited to correct additional independent errors. This work proposes a novel combination of generalized concatenated

FPGA Investigation on Error-Flare Performance of a Concatenated Staircase and Hamming FEC Code for 400G Inter-Data Center Interconnect

Journal of Lightwave Technology, 2019
Forward error correction (FEC) performance down to 10−15 bit error rate (BER) of a concatenated staircase and Hamming code (CSHC), which was recently proposed for the first 400G inter-data center interconnect standard, is verified with a 50-piece field ...

A Concatenate Code for Error Correcting Code in Bit Pattern Media Recoding System

Advanced Materials Research, 2013
Bit Pattern Media Recording (BPMR) is the modern HDD recording technique which can overcome the constraint of conventional technique by offering tremendous areal density. However, narrow track of BPMR can cause noise generating from inter-track interference (ITI) and In. inter-symbol interference (ISI).

Perturbed Decoding Algorithm for Concatenated Error Correcting and Detecting Codes System

2006 IEEE 17th International Symposium on Personal, Indoor and Mobile Radio Communications, 2006
We consider a concatenated coded system consists of an inner error correcting code and an outer error detecting code. In a conventional decoding scheme, the inner decoder produces the best codeword from its perspective. The best codeword is then checked by the outer decoder. The performance of the concatenated coded system can be improved by having the

Distributed Realization of Color Codes for Quantum Error Correction

International Conference on Quantum Computing and Engineering
Color codes are a leading class of topological quantum error-correcting codes with modest error thresholds and structural compatibility with two-dimensional architectures, which make them well-suited for fault-tolerant quantum computing (FTQC).

Design and Simulation of Quantum Error Correction Codes for Scalable Quantum Architectures

2025 7th International Conference on Innovative Data Communication Technologies and Application (ICIDCA)
Quantum computing can transform a great deal and this may be in the realms of cryptography, optimisation, as well as material science. However, it requires decoherence and gate imperfection which introduces large error rates thus are difficult to ...

Universal Quantum Computation via Scalable Measurement-Free Error Correction

PRX Quantum
We show that universal quantum computation can be concretely made fault-tolerant without mid-circuit measurements. To this end, we introduce a measurement-free deformation protocol of the Bacon-Shor code to realize a logical gate.
