Resource concentration, institutional quality and the natural resource curse
Economic Systems, 2013Abstract Employing panel data from 14 regions in Kazakhstan, this investigation aims to discover the effect of energy (point-source) and agricultural (diffuse) resource abundance on economic growth through institutional quality. A fixed effects panel data model and Roger's standard errors model are used to consider the possible endogeneity problem ...

Natural Resources, Export Concentration and Financial Development [PDF]
Recent studies indicate that the natural resource curse, that is, the negative link between resource abundance and growth, may operate through a country’s financial system. Scholars show that resource-abundant economies suffer from lower financial development, which may indirectly affect welfare.

Abstract Reducing Hg emissions from Zn smelting flue gas (Zn-SFG) is rigorously stipulated by the Minamata Convention. Currently, a little natural pyrite (FeS2) as the tailings after flotation of natural sphalerite (ZnS) is often regarded as solid wastes and discarded; therefore, another utilization of these natural FeS2 is preferable. In this study,

Waste-water need not be disposed to an evaporation basin until all useful benefit has been extracted from the waste stream. Sequential Biological Concentration (SBC) of saline drainage streams offers the ability to create a number of financial opportunities, whilst concentrating the waste stream to a manageable volume. This paper analyzed the development of different types of natural gas flow zones in China, and then di- vided all provinces into four flow types: non-flow zones, output centers, input centers and exchanging centers. Next, we analyzed the concentration and diffusion characteristics, current spatial pattern and evolution of source and terminal regions of

ABSTRACTIt is estimated that more than 100 geothermal CO2 springs exist in central‐western Italy. Eight springs were selected in which the atmospheric CO2 concentrations were consistently observed to be above the current atmospheric average of 354μmol mol‐1. CO2 concentration measurements at some of the springs are reported.
