Multiple ETS family transcription factors bind mutant p53 via distinct interaction regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mutant p53 gain‐of‐function is thought to be mediated by interaction with other transcription factors. We identify multiple ETS transcription factors that can bind mutant p53 and found that this interaction can be promoted by a PXXPP motif. ETS proteins that strongly bound mutant p53 were upregulated in ovarian cancer compared to ETS proteins that ...

Early maladaptive schemas from child maltreatment in depression and psychotherapeutic remediation: a predictive coding framework

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychiatry
Schemas are affective-cognitive conceptual models of self, others and the world, derived from life experience. Predictive Coding theory proposes schema are created from perceptual input as follows: Based on previous similar experiences, the brain ...

Characterizing the salivary RNA landscape to identify potential diagnostic, prognostic, and follow‐up biomarkers for breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study explores salivary RNA for breast cancer (BC) diagnosis, prognosis, and follow‐up. High‐throughput RNA sequencing identified distinct salivary RNA signatures, including novel transcripts, that differentiate BC from healthy controls, characterize histological and molecular subtypes, and indicate lymph node involvement.

UML/OCL based design and the transition towards temporal object relational database with bitemporal data

open access: yesJournal of King Saud University: Computer and Information Sciences, 2020
In software modeling, UML (Unified modeling language) receives increasing attention from designers of real-time systems in software development. The emergence of temporal database calls for new visual and efficient modeling techniques to facilitate the ...

Developing Translation Rules for Converting Relational to Object Oriented Database Conceptual Schema [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
A multidatabase is a confederation of pre-existing distributed, heterogeneous, and autonomous database system. Obviously, the integration process is essential in the effort of forming a distributed, heterogeneous database system.

Modeling hepatic fibrosis in TP53 knockout iPSC‐derived human liver organoids

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study developed iPSC‐derived human liver organoids with TP53 gene knockout to model human liver fibrosis. These organoids showed elevated myofibroblast activation, early disease markers, and advanced fibrotic hallmarks. The use of profibrotic differentiation medium further amplified the fibrotic signature seen in the organoids.

A synthetic benzoxazine dimer derivative targets c‐Myc to inhibit colorectal cancer progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Benzoxazine dimer derivatives bind to the bHLH‐LZ region of c‐Myc, disrupting c‐Myc/MAX complexes, which are evaluated from SAR analysis. This increases ubiquitination and reduces cellular c‐Myc. Impairing DNA repair mechanisms is shown through proteomic analysis.

The Role of the Event Structure Metaphot and of Image-Schematic Structure in Metaphors for Happiness and Sadness

open access: yesMiscelánea: A Journal of English and American Studies, 1997
Taking as bases the well-known idea that in Cognitive Semantics metaphor, a conceptual rather than a linguistic phenomenon, is considered to be a series of conceptual mappings from a source to a target domain ( cfr.

Adaptaquin is selectively toxic to glioma stem cells through disruption of iron and cholesterol metabolism

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Adaptaquin selectively kills glioma stem cells while sparing differentiated brain cells. Transcriptomic and proteomic analyses show Adaptaquin disrupts iron and cholesterol homeostasis, with iron chelation amplifying cytotoxicity via cholesterol depletion, mitochondrial dysfunction, and elevated reactive oxygen species.
