Axial Load Design for Concrete Filled Steel Tubes
Journal of the Structural Division, 1970The ultimate load of axially loaded concrete filled steel tube columns was investigated and design equations are proposed which are based on summing the tangent modulus buckling loads of the concrete core and the steel tube. The tangent modulus loads are calculated using the AISC code method for the steel tube and a parabolic stress-strain relationship

Local Buckling of Concrete-Filled Circular Steel Tubes
Composite Construction in Steel and Concrete IV, 2002The use of concrete-filled steel tubes of circular cross-section (CFST's), as composite columns in high-rise office and residential construction is now commonplace. Significant economies may be gained when the steel tube is thin-walled, with diameter to thickness ratios exceeding 100. Current design of these members is based on limiting the diameter to

Reinforced lightweight concrete filled steel tube columns

A Review of Concrete-Filled Steel Tube Elements
2021Structural elements such as composite columns and beams filled with concrete compared to reinforced concrete elements, maintenance-free concrete inside the pipe, being able to pour concrete without molds, having high rigidity and strength, increasing the strength of the concrete inside the pipe by limiting the lateral deformations and pressure elements

Economic Analysis on Concrete-Filled Steel Tube Structure
Advanced Materials Research, 2013The concrete-filled steel tube structure possesses the advantages stemming from both steel and concrete. When the structure receives pressure, the concrete in the steel tube bears the stresses from three directions owing to the restriction of the steel tube. The structure does not only have high bearing capacity but also a good plastic property. Though

Concrete-filled steel tube columns under earthquake loads
Progress in Structural Engineering and Materials, 2000Summary Concrete-filled steel tubes (CFTs) have been used throughout the world in structures of varying heights and structural configurations, both in nonseismic and in high seismic zones. This review summarizes the behavior of circular and rectangular concrete-filled steel tube beam‐columns and braces, particularly focused on their behavior when ...

CONNECTION OF STEEL BEAMS TO CONCRETE-FILLED TUBES
2004Abstract Tests have been carried out on twentyeight connection specimens. The specimens consisted of steel beams connected to columns made of concrete-filled steel tubes. The results reported here are for a series of eight specimens in which the columns were made of a steel rectangular hollow section 150x150x5 RHS.
