Vibration-based damage detection of a concrete arch dam

Engineering Structures, 2021
Abstract Civil engineering structures are generally supposed to have long operation life spans during which they are submitted to many factors, both environmentally and human-induced, that degrade their condition and performance, gradually leading to the occurrence of damages and malfunctions.

Spatiotemporal hybrid model for concrete arch dam deformation monitoring considering chaotic effect of residual series

, 2021
Single-measuring point deformation monitoring model is the most popular method in dam health monitoring. Considering that single-point monitoring model cannot comprehensively reflect the overall deformation properties of dams, a spatiotemporal hybrid ...

Modal identification of concrete arch dam by fully automated operational modal identification

, 2021
Modal identification is a type of system identification, which studies on the modal parameters of systems by using modal test. In the case of using operational or ambient modal analysis, there is no need to measure excitation, and the system output data ...

Modal analysis of concrete arch dam–reservoir–massed foundation system in frequency domain

, 2021
Modal analysis of concrete arch dam–reservoir–foundation rock systems is a challenging task. The complexities arise mainly due to computing mode shapes encountered when solving an eigenvalue proble...

Application of Hagstrom-Warburton high-order truncation boundary condition on time harmonic analysis of concrete arch dam-reservoir systems

, 2021
Purpose Subsequently, the response of idealized Morrow Point arch dam is studied due to stream, vertical and cross-stream ground motions for reservoir bottom/sidewalls conditions of both fully reflective and absorptive.

Relation between cracks behavior and curvature in cracked concrete arch dam under earthquake

, 2021
Dams are considered one of the most important vital installations in different eras due to the advantages they provide on the level of life for humans and other creatures or at the environmental level, in addition to being an important source for ...

Investigation of Deteriorated Concrete Arch Dam

Journal of the Power Division, 1970
Investigation of a 40-yr old concrete arch dam is described. Apparent normal weathering processes had caused deterioration to a point where repairs were necessary. Repairs were started but suspicions arose that other destructive processes were at work. A concrete coring program led to inconclusive results.
