A Multi‐Scale Machine Learning Framework for the Inverse Design of High Entropy Alloys

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
High‐entropy alloys offer vast potential for various applications, including electrocatalysis; however, their compositional complexity challenges conventional screening. We introduce an inverse‐design framework combining two neural networks to determine optimal compositions and reconstruct nanoparticle geometry from targeted properties and conventional

Optoelectronic Synaptic Devices Using Molecular Telluride Phase‐Change Inks for Three‐Factor Learning

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Optoelectronic synaptic devices based on solution‐processed molecular telluride GST‐225 phase‐change inks are demonstrated for three‐factor learning. A global optical signal broadcast through a silicon waveguide induces non‐volatile conductance updates exclusively in locally electrically flagged memristors.

Electrospun Wood‐Derived Biopolymers as Electrodes in Electrochemical Energy Storage Technologies

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Electrospinning transforms wood‐derived cellulose and lignin into architecturally defined, binder‐free carbon electrodes with tuneable porosity and functionality. This review shows how fibre design enables decoupled charge and mass transport, enhancing performance across battery systems, while identifying key challenges in spinnability, scalability ...

Melanin's Role in Balancing Mechanical Strength and Reproductive Output in Environmentally Stressed Fungal Spores

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Melanin content directly controls fungal spore mechanical properties, with pigmented spores achieving rupture forces two orders of magnitude higher than hyaline spores. Environmental stress drives this quantity‐quality tradeoff; stressed species invest energy in melanin‐reinforced, mechanically superior thick‐walled, super‐hydrophobic spores, while ...

Manufacturing optimization using Tsukamoto fuzzy inference system method: A case study in block paving and solid concrete block industry

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2018
Fuzzy method has advantages in solving real-world problems that are mostly non-binary and non-linear, such as calculating the optimization of production quantities. A case study for the application of this method was applied in UD.

Inspection of rebars in concrete blocks

open access: yesInternational Journal of Applied Electromagnetics and Mechanics, 2012
Inspection of rebars in concrete blocks is most important issue for civil engineering applications, such as reinforcing the damaged buildings, bridges, power stations and nuclear plants. This study is concerned the research and development of a nondestructive rapid inspection technique for rebars in concrete blocks.
