Theory and Field to Determine the Construction of Bridge and Tunnel Linked Segment
Bridge–tunnel linked sections characterized by ultra‐small clear distances and steep slopes pose significant construction risks due to strong spatial constraints and complex mechanical interactions between adjacent underground structures. In such conditions, excavation method selection becomes a critical factor governing construction safety and ...

Modal testing and FE model tuning of a lively footbridge structure [PDF]
Despite huge advances in numerical modelling of civil engineering structures in recent decades, finite element models for footbridges should still be developed and used with caution when evaluating modal properties of these structures.

This study focuses on simply supported railway box girder bridges with pre‐existing cracks under high‐speed train loading. A vehicle–bridge coupled vibration model is established, and three‐dimensional dynamic stress intensity factors at the crack tip under various loading conditions are obtained using the interaction integral method.

Finite element modelling of shear connection for steel-concrete composite girders [PDF]
The main objective of this thesis is to develop effective 3-dimensional finite element models to trace the behaviour of headed stud shear connectors in composite girders with solid slabs and precast hollow core slabs.

Seismic fragility of concrete box girder bridges in Malaysia
In Malaysia, the majority of structures and infrastructures have not been designed for seismic actions. Recent earthquakes in the country, however, has raised the attention of authorities toward the seismic vulnerability of these structures. Bridges are among the crucial infrastructures that their functionality during ground motions is of great ...

The Effect and Mechanical Mechanism of Intermediate Diaphragms in Prefabricated T‐Beam Bridges
Current bridge design codes stipulate that prefabricated T‐beam bridges must include intermediate diaphragms, with spacing not exceeding 10 m. However, the construction of these diaphragms entails extensive overhead work, elevated safety risks, and significant challenges in quality control.
