Creep and creep recovery properties of polystyrene aggregate concrete
Construction and Building Materials, 2014Abstract The present study aims to characterize the creep behaviour of Polystyrene Aggregate Concrete (PAC). The creep and creep recovery of PAC were determined experimentally and compared with normal weight concrete. The parameters studied include polystyrene aggregate (PA) content, curing and storage conditions.

A model for the creep of concrete
Cement and Concrete Research, 1975Abstract Porosity and density changes were measured for a series of mortar specimens and a series of cement paste specimens subjected to various compressive stress histories during desorption and sorption cycles. It was found that hydration is inhibited by compressive stress.

Summary Creep data covering periods of up to 18 months for concretes made with expanded-shale aggregates and having compressive strengths of 3,000 and 5,000 lb/in2 at 28 days are reported. These are compared with data for sand-gravel concretes of comparable strength.

Creep of concrete-filled steel tube considering creep-recovery of the concrete core
Advances in Structural Engineering, 2019Concrete creep results in the strain increment of concrete-filled steel tube. In this article, a new method was established for creep prediction of concrete-filled steel tube considering the creep-recovery effect of the concrete core with creep model and separate creep-recovery model, named two-function method.

The mechanism of creep in concrete
Matériaux et Constructions, 1968AN ATTEMPT IS DESCRIBED TO FIND THE BASIC PHYSICAL FACTORS DETERMINING CREEP IN CEMENT PASTE, AND SELECT AMONG THE EXISTING THEORIES ON CREEP THE CORRECT ONE BY EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATIONS. CEMENT PASTE AND CONCRETE SAMPLES WERE DRIED, LOADED, AND RESATURATED AT VARIOUS TEMPERATURES.

The shrinkage and creep of concrete
Magazine of Concrete Research, 1959Summary This paper describes an investigation made at the Laboratoires du Bâtiment et des Travaux Publics at Paris into the principal factors influencing the creep and shrinkage of concrete. The main conclusions drawn are that both creep and shrinkage are directly proportional to the amount of cement paste in the concrete, that creep is directly ...

Creep and shrinkage of concrete
Matériaux et Constructions, 1969The paper gives a short description of the different types of test series on creep and shrinkage of concrete, which are under work at the Cement and Concrete Research Institute at the Technical University of Norway. Some results are given concerning creep and shrinkage of concrete under periodic changes in moisture content.

Prediction of creep of polymer concrete
Mechanics of Composite Materials, 1995We studied the applicability of the phenomenological approach to the prediction of long-time creep of polymer concrete consisting of polyester binder with diabase filler and diabase aggregate. We discovered that the principles of temperature-time analogy, of moisture-time analogy, and of temperature-moisture-time analogy are applicable to the ...
